Provides Medical Services for vulnerable populations of Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties
- Four health centers: Gaithersburg, Takoma Park (Mon-Sat, 8am-5pm; two evenings/wk), Silver Spring (Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm, two Sat/month) and Greenbelt (three days/week)
- Physicians and mid-level providers will serve more than 17,000 patients this fiscal year
- Well and sick care for adults, children, seniors, people who are homeless or disabled; women’s health, family planning, specialty referral, mental health, preventive dental, diabetes/nutrition care, patient outreach/care management, Medicaid eligibility screening
Administers the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
- Six clinics: Gaithersburg, Germantown, Aspen Hill, White Flint, Takoma Park, and Greenbelt (Gaithersburg and Takoma Park co-located with medical services); open Mon-Sat, 8 am – 5pm
- Lactation Peer Counselors in Holy Cross, Shady Grove and Washington Adventist Hospitals, seven days a week
- Serving over 30,000 clients this fiscal year; largest WIC provider in Maryland--over half of the pregnant women in Montgomery County
- Screening clients for post-partum depression and Medicaid eligibility
Our Staff
- More than 130 staff total: more than 80 percent bilingual; 22 different languages spoken
- Medical services has 14 Board-certified physicians (family practitioners, pediatricians, rheumatologist, PRN); two dentists; three physician assistants; one hygienist; four nurse practitioners; four registered nurses; two mental health therapists; one certified diabetes educator; and support staff
- WIC has three registered dieticians and 43 nutrition counselors
