Director of Advancement
Amy Moorer earned her B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park, and began her career in criminal justice policy research where she developed an interest in survey research and applying project results to improve social systems. Honing her communications skills in the community college environment for the next 15 years, Ms. Moorer mastered public relations concepts and strategies, produced college media and collateral, organized special events, and created diverse networks for partnerships leading to funding opportunities. A highlight of this experience, Ms. Moorer served as an original thinker to establish an advancement office at Montgomery College.
Upon completing her master’s degree in 1995, Ms. Moorer assumed development responsibilities in addition to public relations department leadership. In this capacity, she contributed to the college’s first capital campaign and 40th anniversary celebration. Following the launch of the 50th anniversary, Ms. Moorer earned her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation. In 1997, she accepted a position to be the first director of advancement at Community Clinic, Inc. She currently leads a comprehensive fundraising and communications program, and serves as senior advisor for external relations to the CEO and executive team.
Ms. Moorer volunteers as the lead fundraising strategist for the Grateful Girls Fund of the Montgomery County Community Foundation. She is a recent graduate of Coach U. and earned certification as an advancement coach, in 2009.
