The Program Committee ensures compliance with existing grants and program requirements by monitoring the scope of services, eligibility and enrollment, financial impacts, and risks associated with each program. The committee works closely with staff to assess the impact of changes in funding levels and to identify new health-related services that are consistent with CCI’s mission that enable CCI to better serve the community.
During this past year, the committee:

• Monitored each of CCI’s significant client-based programs for compliance with contracts and for consistency with CCI’s mission. Programs reviewed included Medicaid Managed Care, Care for Kids and Rewarding Work for Montgomery County, Health Care for the Homeless, and the state of Maryland Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program for county residents.

• Continued the valuable practice to invite representatives from other local organizations to participate in committee meetings as a way to strengthen community relationships and enhance a holistic approach to patient service delivery.

• Established an educational component of the full Board meeting agenda to provide ongoing information sessions dedicated to present and future projects, and made arrangements for a diverse schedule of speakers and topics for the year.

• Actively engaged members of the Board and community in discussions of pertinent issues facing community health centers, and assessed the impact of legislation and economic trends on CCI’s current programs and future goals.
