This picture may not show the crowd around him,
but at six months old he is sitting bolt-upright in his stroller,
chewing on a WIC juice bottle, and grinning at his admirers. He
and his family are City of Gaithersburg residents and Medicaid participants.
His mom has been a WIC recipient since she became pregnant and continues
with the program. In addition, members of his family are primary
care patients at CCI.

Angela Ditzel, Compliance Officer
Upon earning JCAHO accreditation in 2003 and committing
to inspection readiness, CCI maintains a stringent safety compliance
program across all six CCI sites. Categorized under the JCAHO standard
“Environment of Care,” this year’s accomplishments
include developing an effective disaster response plan, creating
a fire-safe clinic environment, implementing strategies to minimize
work hazards, requiring staff training and competency verification
for proper equipment use and maintenance, and stepping up security
for patients, personnel, visitors, and property.
