Community Clinic Seeks Board Members

Community Clinic, a nationally accredited nonprofit primary health care agency providing primary medical care and nutrition services to vulnerable and at-risk children and adults in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, is seeking applicants to serve on its Board of Directors. Candidates from the community and consumers of CCI’s services are encouraged to apply.

The Board establishes policy, approves programs, and provides fiscal oversight for the agency. The Board of Directors is diverse, volunteer, and community-based. Directors serve a three-year term and are not required to have expertise in the health care field.

Community Clinic’s mission is to provide quality primary care and related health services to medically underserved persons, including the uninsured.

Currently, CCI serves close to 30,000 patients and Women, Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition program participants in six accessible locations throughout Montgomery County. Sites are in Takoma Park, Silver Spring, Aspen Hill, Rockville, Gaithersburg and Germantown.

More than half the patients treated for medical concerns are children under the age of five years and most of the adults are uninsured. CCI has been in operation with successful expansions of sites and services for 35 years. The agency meets its mission in permanent medically-equipped facilities open Monday through Friday and Saturday mornings, and employs 80 professional medical and support bi-lingual staff and volunteers.
